In year 9, pupils continue to follow the Exploring Science Scheme with adjustments made to take in to account their abilities and needs.
Pupils are usually taught by a combination of teachers of two or more disciplines. They continue to study Biology, Chemistry and Physics; the teaching order varies from class to class. At the end of each topic, there is a short end of topic test to assess pupils’ progress.

At the end of Year 9, pupils also undertake a CREST project, with an emphasis on How Science Works. Projects titles change and have included investigations in to dental hygiene and the manufacturing and testing of hair products.
