GHOST WRITTEN There was a hand in the darkness, and it held.............. - Neil Gaiman, The Graveyard Book This year, the Library is running an exciting new competition for young writers. We want you to continue the story started in the first line given above, which is taken from this year’s Carnegie Medal winner, 'The Graveyard Book' by Neil Gaiman. You should write a short story of no more than 800 words, using this as your first line. Be as creative as possible—the winner will be someone who writes an original, creative story that is well written and enjoyable to read! Please submit your entries to the library by the last day of term. The winning entrant will be awarded a prize of book tokens.
