Biology has a daily impact on our lives including health and ecological concerns, cloning and stem cells, DNA profiles, genetic engineering and the human genome project, biotechnology and the production of new drugs and vaccines etc. In studying AS Biology you will gain a scientific understanding of these issues to make informed decisions.
The new AS course will build on concepts and skills that will have been developed in the new GCSE Science specifications. It presents Biology as an exciting, relevant and challenging subject.
The course will have two modules plus a module on investigative and practical skills leading to an AS level qualification in Year 12. Year 13 has two more modules and assessment leading to A level.
